Stephen James Braccioforte spent 20 years working in the Real Estate sales business. As the world changed and the internet became the first introduction for home buyers to view potential homes, the importance of Real Estate photography and really good images became evident. Most people will see a home on the internet before the first visit. In fact, it is the pictures that invite people to visit a home. Being in the business was the best education for understanding what home seekers need to see. Learning how to capture a great image was the challenge. Stephen studied photography in Manhattan at the International Center of Photography for three years. In addition, he mentored with real estate photographers and studied the works of people like Julius Shulman.
" Real Estate photography is really about capturing an image that gives you the feel of a home while also showing it in the best possible light. The balancing of both ambient light and off camera flash is a technique that can enable you to see things closer to how they appear in person. While wide angle lenses are necessary to enable you to capture more in a particular image, these lenses can also distort an image so much that it becomes obvious to the viewer. This is what makes well conceived camera angles and focal length so important to the overall composition of your images. All these aspects make this job fun. I enjoy the challenge and I especially enjoy when it comes together well. I don't believe in taking quick pictures because even though you can correct many flaws in post production, the better image you start with the more you have to work with later on."
